
Mac Young – Executive Director
Mac Young is a versatile and accomplished professional with expertise in management, finance, operations, sales, and client acquisition. His career spans multiple industries and continents, including international business development as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, East Africa. Among his proudest achievements is helping build Brains Education Center, a primary school in a small village—a project that reflects his commitment to creating lasting impact through education and entrepreneurship.
While serving overseas, Mac pursued and completed his MBA at the University of South Florida, complementing his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Wright State University. These academic credentials, combined with hands-on experience, have equipped him with strong financial acumen and strategic leadership skills. After years of working on projects abroad, Mac returned to Ohio to marry Carolyn and together they embraced the opportunity to restore a historic 127-year-old home in Springfield—a testament to their shared love for community and heritage.
Mac currently serves as Executive Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Springfield, Ohio. Under his leadership, SBDC continues its mission of advocating for and supporting small businesses throughout Clark County. Mac and his team help local entrepreneurs build vibrant, thriving enterprises by offering expert consultation and assistance in acquiring capital and financing. His work is not just about business growth—it’s about strengthening families, fostering resilience, and creating opportunities that transform communities. For Mac, Springfield isn’t just where he works; it’s where he and his wife have chosen to raise their family and make a lasting impact.
