One of SBDC’s most popular services for existing businesses is our comprehensive marketing audit. One or more of SBDC’s marketing experts will take a top-to-bottom look at how you are positioning and promoting your company and its products and services. Through our systematic approach, we rate your performance in a number of facets and then produce a prioritized list of recommendations for you as the business owner to consider.

Here’s how this process typically works:

Meeting #1 – Marketing Audit Prep

  • Define your target audience(s)
  • Identify your marketing goals
  • Request materials and access needed to complete the audit

 

Meeting #2 – Branding Audit Review

  • Review findings related to your company’s name, logo, signage, printed marketing materials, etc.
  • Discuss prioritized recommendations to improve branding

 

Meeting #3 – Social Media Audit Review

  • Review findings related to your company’s various social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.)
  • Review social media best practices for similar types of companies (types of content, trending hashtags, etc.)
  • Discuss prioritized recommendations to improve social media presence

 

Meeting #4 – Website Audit Review

  • Review findings related to your company’s website and online marketplace stores (e.g. Etsy, Amazon, Ebay, Shopify, etc.)
  • Review website best practices for similar types of companies
  • Discuss prioritized recommendations to improve website performance

 

Meeting #5 – 3-month Update

  • Review progress made on our recommendations
  • Offer feedback and additional advice
  • Discuss impacts, if any, that changes have had on business
